Today I had the pleasure of entering into the magical little town of West of the Rain created and owned by Oobleck Allagash and Nodnol Jameson.  This is a public sim and full region which is stated to be loosely inspired by the San Juan Islands in Washington State.

Stepping off of the dock in West of Rain

This little sea side town is well crafted with so much attention to detail that its hard to know just where to start.  It is a stunning place for a simple retreat and a photographers delight.  There are many objects through out the Sim with available poses in case you are not carrying a ton of your own.

First Sights of West of Rain

One of the first things you are greeted by when stepping off the dock, is the "shopping" area of town.  Every store has a difference design and is inspiration for a great photo.  you are also greeted by the calm of the lighthouse which as well is fully furnished and ready for photo opportunities.

If what you are looking for instead is simply a fun and romantic place to stroll with a love one this is also certainly the place.  The description of the region promises frequent events and entertainment, and the scenery certainly makes for a perfect romantic setting.

 Gas Station

 Cabin in the Woods

Picnic Time

Needless to say visiting this region was a great way to spend two hours of my day and I truly enjoyed not only the sights and sounds of the area but also meeting the slew of other photographers that like to visit the place.  A well deserved 3 1/2 stars out of 5.

P.S - I couldn't resist but take this belly picture on the beach, 6 months and counting.

Thank God i'm a Country Girl

For once I can honestly say I don't even know where to begin with this one.  I'm proud to say that I have spent almost 9 years touring second life and witnessing the creations of so many talented peoples imagination, and yet todays adventure has rendered me speechless in its beauty.  Today I stumbled upon Country Side.  A Sim Owned by Dick.Spad.  Loacation Habitat Springs (232, 22, 22), it has a maturity rating of Adult, and is 57744 sq m.  The locations description reads as follows "Countryside is a quiet place to enjoy the wildlife and the peace & tranquility of nature.  Its a place to relax, or to be romantic.  Second life Photographers Welcomed."http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Habitat%20Springs/232/22/22

Ok first off, Dicky's description above does not do this place justice.  I landed in a field of wild flowers and trees with what seemed like every color, and a lighted trail leading me out.  The trails in this place leave you with the feeling of really walking in the woods as they are little dirt paths surrounded with thick forest and flowers.

Landing in the Countryside, had to get that camera ready

Just the walk down the path alone was visually stunning, what I didn't expect was when it opened up to this

and offered me 3 more paths to follow.  You won't see an abundance of object laying around with poses for you to take pictures with, though there are some very well placed items to do so.  Its part of the beauty of this place, the open fields, the wildlife all around you, the fields of flowers and trees.  If you as a model or photographer are using this as a place to take pictures, bring some poses, If you are using it as a romantic location with someone, find one of the beautiful sitting areas in the woods and enjoy the sites and sounds.

Trust me when I tell you that my pictures do not to this place justice, and there is so many sights and buildings I simply didn't have room for in the blog to show you.  By far this is not just one of but THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SIM I have ever laid foot on.  I will definitely be back to take photos and so should all of you.  PLEASE don't forget to donate, we seriously need to encourage this sim to stay open!

I fell so in love with this sim that I ended up taking my husband back to it the next day.  Now as much as I enjoy photography he has a much better eye for light and shadow then I do, and I wanted to see what the sim inspired from him.

As usual he produced a stunning photo that i'm very proud to show off.  The remarkable combination of his talent and a stunning sim produced a beautiful photo.  Picture taken by Dilshad Taylor-Slade.

The Magic of Neverland

Ok let me say this, I wasn't in a good mood today!!!!!  Real life was kicking me in the ass, I was questioning some things in my second life and I was just in a rut and a down mood.  Tossing on something quick...............which some of you know sooooo isn't me, getting dressed in normally and hour process, I decided to take my butt on a walk through a sim.  Today I decided to visit Neverland.  Neverland is located on your map at Gy Paraiso Residencia (196, 128, 20) and is an adult rated sim.

The moment you land on the sim you enter into a world of magic.  There landing point has a huge sign displaying there name with statues and hearts surrounding it, and what seems like a sim full of lighted trees and multi colored waterfalls.

It wasn't too long before I began to feel myself getting caught up in the magic and the peace that the place seems to generate.

I would strongly recommend playing with the lighting.  The regions windlight is set to a soft calming fairy pinkish color that is stunning, but when I began playing with the lighting for different pictures it was amazing what features began to stand out about the sim that I never noticed before.

It wasn't long before my mind was taken from its dreary mood and thinking of creative ideas thanks to the magic and wonder of Neverland. Every inch of surface in the place seems to be designed for photographers and there is numerous prop items for those of you who do not favor using poses.

So in finishing this is a definite must see.  Not just for all you photographers and models, but for all of those of you young at heart and wishing to loose yourself to some magic.  A Definite and deserved 5 out of 5.
