The Tale of the Upward Spiral

It was Hallows eve and I stood in the door way awaiting the children who came every year seeking their treats of chocolate and candy.  In truth I had expected them to begin knocking a while ago, and with each passing hour I grew more concerned something was wrong with the evening when a single knock didn't arrive.  I decided to walk to the door and make sure that the Jack lantern was still lit, still inviting visitors to the door steps.
The pumpkin still stood there with its little candle light flickering inside with the night wind.  Looking around I notice adults and children alike passing by the house in crowds, all eagerly looking up towards the hill while whispering softly to themselves.   I figured something must have happened and since trick or treaters weren't tying me to the house I decided to go out on a quest to see what was keeping them.

I followed the crowd with camera in hand, stopping every now and then to capture the crowd I was following, not recognizing any of the faces beneath the masks.  We walked for a few moments before we came across a little carnival.
A woman instantly called out to me begging me to come to her table which was filled with cards and crystals.  She wanted to read my fortune and I ever the sceptic was eager to prove her wrong.

She droned on and on about the stars and the planets till I was certain I would fall asleep but her finally words made me lift my head before bursting into laughter.  "The doctor will receive the secret to eternal life".  Shaking my head I walked away, stopping to look at vendors who sold their wares and the creepy sound of carnival music before ushering us back up the hill.

I bought a mask to keep myself in the spirt and began to walk again, stopping to take pictures every now and then of some of the amazing costumes I noticed along the way.
I in fact got so caught up in this that at one point I lifted my head to find that I had lost my crowd
Thankfully another person in an amazing costume stopped to point out the direction and begun my journey up the hill again
I was surprised when we finally stopped to see a large group gathered around an old house.  They simply stood and stared at its darkened windows like deer standing before  a car steering into headlights.
I pushed myself past, determined to find out what had driven us all here.  not in the slightest filled with the same awe and admiration of the crowd I followed I pushed past the door and began to explore the house that seemed to be abandoned.
The house was creepy, that was a given, and it looked like no one had lived there in years, dust covered everything, and the walls seemed to drip with a red rusty material that I could only assume came from the upstairs pipes that lay just below the floor.  I toured room after room filled with creepy old objects, cobwebs, and thought to myself how it felt like I was in the middle of a horror movie.  It was only when I approached the desk at the back of the house and saw the journals sitting there that my interest was truly peeked.  I opened one and skimmed over the old calligraphy type script, reading what seemed to be someones attempt at re-writing Frankenstein without the talent of Mary  Shelly.  Sighing I set the book down, the dust making me sneeze and my head spin.  Laying my head  down against the table for the briefest of moments I wonder what this all could mean.

Cedar Creek

So the other day I was contacted by an acquaintance who use to run a sim I lived on that had sadly closed.  He informed me that he was creating a new rp/residential sim and was wondering if I would like to come see.  Ever the sceptic and already having a home paid for a month in advance, I agreed to a visit with no intent of moving, merely to show support.

His Landmark instantly had me arriving in a small room.  I couldn't help but notice right away that there was pictures for the Fire department, Police department and City, and if any of you know me you can only imagine the tsk from not seeing a medical department.
I was pleased to see so many admin, one of the things I've always found troubling about any small rp or residential sim was that there never seemed to be people actually on to help when you needed help.  Small sims tend to keep a small amount of admins unlike bigger rp sims.
We touch the mirror to transport down and have a complete Alice in Wonderland moment before we are transported down to the sim its self.  When you're in this room don't forget to look at the pictures , you will be surprised to see when you arrive in Cedar Creek that it really is as beautiful as the pictures depict.

This is the view you arrive to, a snowy little town just awaiting the adventures brought to it with Rp.  I begin to explore and am pleasantly surprised by some of the things I find.
My first stop was the Drunken Beaver.  Now maybe i'm partial by being Canadian, but how can you not want to tell your friends "i'm just hanging out at the DB" or "getting something warm at the Bever"  The puns seem too endless to me and I can't wait to begin using them in this rp adventure.
The "business" area of this sim is still waiting for renters, but the DB, a dance studio, and a store already exists.

The police station and Fire department are fully stocked to the point that I can't wait to see what adventures come about from it.  I can't imagine with so many police cars in a small town what someone would be able to get away with, but I can't wait to see the person that trys.
I couldn't help but take this picture.  A lot of sims don't include a church, and its not often used in rp but i'm really happy to see this sim did, and I find the build of this church beautiful.
Local Garage, don't forget before you drive those cars to stop by your local DMV and get your license.

Housing is stunning and some places are still available at a fantastic price.  The average being 1200 Linden for 500 Prim.

So in conclusion to this little visit?  They now have a beautifully equipped medical clinic open not only to the residents of Cedar Creek but all who wish to visit and I am proud to now call this sim home.  Come rp with us, Come visit our little town, and I've no doubt you'll be calling it home as well.  A definite 5 out of 5, cause really, would I live on anything less?

IceWater Villiage

There are a few shops here, a haunted out and a few other things.  Not a massive sim, certainly not an abundance of Halloween, but a great place to get a few pictures.  Heres what I managed to do with my time there.  Definite 2.5 out of 5!

Ok when you get to this land mark at first it looks like nothing much.  You land on a harbor with a bunch of posters around.  Click on the teleporter though and you have the option to go to a dozen different locations.  I toured the nut house, the haunted house and the maze and came up with these shots.  I could have spent all day there taking pictures and simply looking around but I figured I would leave a bit of mystery to the place and just show you a few of the places you can take photos here.  Encourage you all to explore before Halloween.  A definite photo location MUST SEE.

5 out of 5

Call out to all my friends

My favorite store is hosting a contest and I need your help!  What happened to this dress?  Your picture should tell the story of what happened to this stunning and yet bloodied outfit.  Mine tells the story I think we've all felt of the painful and scary moment you hand over your heart to someone.  Head to flickr and vote, favorite the picture, leave a comment.  Prizes will be given for the fan favorite as well as the designers pick.

Hogwarts

Good for a scary little walk through and a chance to see some slasher stuff.  Not an abundance of interactive objects to take photos but I will admit the ones that are there are some I've never seen before.  Worth the visit but doubt you could spend an evening getting lost exploring there.  Over all 2 out of 5
